Safety Street Kids Safety Fair

The Lisbon-Mt Vernon Rotary and Southeast linn Community Center (SELCC) believe we should take care of all children as if they are our own. All children deserve to grow up and be whatever they dream to be.

We are partnering together with the Linn County Safe Kids Coalition and RC Rail to provide Mt Vernon Lisbon community a safety fair to learn about children's safety  issues and how to prevent them. The safety fair will be held during the Lisbon Sauerkraut Days.

Safety Fair Sponsorship Opportunities

Platinum Protector   - $1000

Diamond Defender - $500

Gold Guardian - $250

Silver Safeguard  -$100

We are looking forward to the meeting this week.  Same time and place, Thursday 11:30 am in the Beijing Room at Cornell Commons.
Speaker: Our meeting will include a presentation by local resident Kay Graber about immigrants and helping their path to citizenship.
Last week we had a fabulous former Youth Exchange Student, Robert Petrie present to our club.  He is a Cornell student.  Hearing about his experience was exciting and entertaining!  Speaking of Youth Exchange, our student will arrive on December 23rd!  If you are interested in greeting her at the airport, we will have a group of people their to welcome her.  Ask John Schultz for arrival details.
We are also working on finalizing the CPR training for January 27th.  Promotions coming soon!

Two Rotarions Tell Life Stories

George Lewis Albright and Rudy Vodicka gave their autobiographies to the Rotary club on Monday evening at the Baker House.

For years, Angalia Bianca had slept in abandoned buildings throughout Chicago. She stole. She did drugs. She spent time in and out of jail for forgery, theft, trespassing, and possession of narcotics. But after she landed in prison for the seventh time, something changed -- Bianca knew she wanted a better life. She just didn’t know how to make it happen.
